The House itself is 15,000 square feet which is about 7 times the size of the average home of approximately 2,200 square feet. There are 18 individual suites for the guests to stay in. Each suite is large enough to accommodate up to 4-6 children/ adults. Most suites have two full sized beds and others have an additional sofa bed. Each suite has its own bathroom, free local calling, heating and cooling controls, a color TV, and a small 
refrigerator for any medication. Many rooms also include a recliner. If needed, there is also a crib.
Besides all of the guest rooms there are also various community spaces. There is a communal kitchen, dining room, gathering room with a fireplace, computer center with Internet access, wireless Internet access, library, TV rooms, fitness center, playroom ,free laundry facility, and free off the street parking. The kitchen is complete with dishes, silverware, and some basic food items for guests to use. Guests are invited to bring their own food and prepare their meals at their convenience. The dining room can seat up to 24 guests too. The library is equipped with various books, games and puzzles. Kathy's House also has a patio area that is complete with grills, a children play set, a small pond, and patio furniture for guests to enjoy.

ReplyDeleteMy wife Krista and I joined Kathys house after I suffered a brain stam stroke, I was sent to the V A hospital in January 2012 and Krista checked in to Kathys house on the first of April 2012. I stayed in the of hospital till the 15 of June then I joined my wife Krista at Kathys house till January 24, 2013. we stayed there so i could do my out patent therapy at the V A. There is no doubt that our stay at Kathys house played a big part in my recovery. Kathys house has the appearance of a real nice mom and pop motel. But once inside you find out its much more then that. It has a large kitchen and a large dinning room. A beautiful library, 2 nice television rooms super large living room, down stairs a game room. Its the closest thing to home u can find. Our favorite place at Kathys house was the kitchen and dinning room. That's were people would meet. And that is where the magic of Kathys house would take over. Ever one that stays at Kathys house has one thing in common, someone is sick or going to have some kind of surgery, over lunch or dinner you would find your self talking to other patent or family of other patents and it would lead to laughter, crying, or pray! ! I have experienced them all.
ReplyDeleteyou can stay in a five star motel with 100 people and be alone, or you can stay at Kathys house with 3 people and feel like your with family. Your only a stranger at Kathys house if you want to be. It was funny when my 82 year old mother came down to see us and clamed she could come down here for vacation.
I could go on and on about this great place, but before I forget none of this would be possible without the dream of KATHY her self. Also the staff at Kathys house is just great people. Maggie, Kathy & patty make this place even more special then it already is.
